Dear Colleagues,
We are planning to conduct a
phytochemical study in this year and the next concerning the antraquinone
profile of different Rhamnus species
(traditionally used as laxatives or purgative herbal agents) collected around
the world (collaborative project with Prof. Atanas G. Atanatov and colleagues from different countries).
One aspect of the study will be collecting of different
plant samples around the world (stem bark, 10-50 g of dry herbal material,
correctly identified according to http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/search?q=Rhamnus
and accompanied by a picture of the plant, the date and place of collection and
GPS location) and some corresponding market available phytopharmaceticals from
the country of collection as well.
At this stage, we will have possibility to continue the
experiment by applying some bioassays as well to further characterize the
biological compounds which are specific for different Rhamnus species.
With this announcement, we seek for collaboration with
partners who can supply us with suitable amount of herbal material and market
available phytopharmaceuticals. Results will be aimed to be published in a Q1
journal from the field of natural products/medicinal plants or food area.
